Visit of Relic of St Teresa of Calcutta to St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh
Thursday 8 June – Saturday 10 June 2017
A Relic of St Teresa of Calcutta is to visit the Cathedral Churches in Ireland during the month of June. The special Relic will be in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh from 7.30pm on the evening of Thursday 8 June until 1pm on Saturday 10 June, so that people will have an opportunity to venerate it. St Teresa of Calcutta is revered for her work with the poor in India and two apparent cures of sick people after her death in 1997 have been attributed to her intercession. On the day of her Canonisation, Pope Francis said: “St Teresa of Calcutta spent her whole life bowing down before those who were spent, left to die on the side of the road, seeing in them their God given dignity”. Further details about the visit of this special Relic will be available in the coming days.
