Prayer / Mass requests and offerings

Having prayers said and Masses offered by a priest for loved ones who have died and for other intentions has always been an important part of our Catholic faith and tradition. All petitions/requests for prayers and Masses in St Patrick’s Cathedral and St Malachy’s Church are to be booked through the Parish Office.

Prayer and Mass Intention envelopes will be available in both Churches. If people wish to submit a prayer request or a Mass intention or have an anniversary or Months Memory included, an envelope must be left in the parish office no later than 12noon on the Thursday of the week prior to the intention being remembered.

No intentions/Masses will be able to be booked in the Sacristy of either of the Churches but all must be booked through the Parish Office.

Adoration Chapel

Adoration takes place each day from 6.00am to 12 midnight; with the exception of Wednesday when adoration takes place all night. Adorers welcome. Those interested in committing themselves to a certain hour should please contact Nora McBrien 3752 5265.

St Malachy’s Adoration Chapel is open every day for Eucharist Adoration of the Blessed Sacarment.

Cemetery

Plots cannot be prepurchased and only single plots are available in St Patrick’s Cemetery.  Please contact the Parish Office for current fees.

Months Mind Mass

Month’s Mind Mass for a deceased person will automatically be included in the bulletin if the person’s funeral was held in Armagh.  A month’s mind Mass with the name of the deceased read out at all Masses in the Cathedral and St Malachy’s will be on the same date of the person’s death one month on.  If a family wishes to arrange an alternative date they can do so by contacting the Parish Office (9.00am – 3.00pm).  This should be done not later than ten days in advance.  If a family wishes to proclaim the Word of God at this Mass, or to offer intercessions, they should please contact the Parochial House.  NB Saturday means morning Masses only.  Sunday includes Saturday evening Vigil Mass.

Anniversaries

Anniversaries are booked only through the Parish Office and must be with the office on the Thursday before the Anniversary will be called out.
